Visits to VIDEOFORMES exhibitions form part of the Art History curriculum whilst covering the contemporary historical period. They fall within the artistic field of the ‘visual arts’ whilst serving as ‘meeting points’ between different art forms. They enable pupils of all ages to engage in sensitive and thoughtful encounters with works from various artistic fields, […] and to help them spontaneously step through the doors of a museum, a gallery, […] and any other venue for the conservation, creation and dissemination of local artistic heritage (Decree of 11 July 2008 establishing the organisation of arts history education in primary, lower secondary and upper secondary schools).
Visits to exhibitions can form part of the Artistic and Cultural Education Programme as they enable young people, through the sensory experience of artistic practices, through encounters with works and artists, and through exploration, to build a personal artistic culture, to be introduced to the various languages of art, and to diversify and develop their means of expression (Circular No. 2013-073 of 3 May 2013. “The Artistic and Cultural Education Programme”).
